The Department of Economics at the Co-operative National College was founded not just as a platform to teach the laws of demand, supply and market laws of consumption, but as a body of experts who can enlighten the young entrepreneurs and thinkers of next-generation, how to manage and use resources sustainably at an individual, state and national levels. Here students can not only expand their vocabulary that is much needed to understand the working of national and international markets, but also learn to put economic theories into practice in their daily lives to become more efficient and self-sufficient. At the UG level, the department is headed by a team of experienced Economists who conduct and encourage students to take part in Economics societies and events to further their understanding of the subject.
